This statement of faith reflects my life and our family’s beliefs as followers of Christ and the Holy Bible. These beliefs are weaved into all of my classroom and homeschool curriculums where biblical learning is involved; including my Meadowlark programs in my educational shops. …statement of faith:
- The Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original documents, and the only final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
- There is one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely holy and eternally existent as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and sinlessly perfect. His sacrificial death on the cross is substitutionary and representative for all creation, including all people - Colossians 1:20. Though His sacrifice is for all, only those who accept Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior from sin and death will inherit eternal life.
- Jesus rose bodily from the dead and ascended to his Father’s right hand, where he now ministers as our Great High Priest. He will come again to receive his own unto himself and to reign in power and glory for all eternity.
- Every man, woman, and child is created by God in God’s image, as either male or female. Therefore, each person, from conception to death—whether male or female (Genesis 1:27), of every race, ethnicity, age, and ability—has intrinsic dignity and value, and should not be subject to discrimination or exploitation. Each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation. Redemption is wholly by the blood of Christ, and salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- The Holy Spirit indwells the believer, who is sealed until the day of redemption and empowered to live a godly life, through the ongoing sanctification of the Holy Spirit. He also convicts the world and unbelievers to repent of their sins and to come to Christ as their only means of salvation.
- The New Testament church began with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. All true believers are united to him and to one another by the indwelling Spirit. This means that the church, as a whole, is not a merely human organization, but a living organism, known as the body of Christ.
- There are two Christian ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism signifies that the believer is buried with Christ and is risen with him to walk in newness of life. The Lord’s Supper is instituted by the Lord himself exclusively for his own. In the observance of the Lord’s Supper, believers remember him, they show his death until he comes, and they profess their union with Christ and ongoing faith in him as their only Savior.
- Every true child of God possesses eternal life and—being justified, sanctified, and sealed with the Holy Spirit—is safe and secure for all eternity. However, a Christian can, through sin, lose his fellowship, joy, power, testimony, and reward; and can incur the Father’s discipline. The believer’s relationship with God is eternal, being established by new birth; daily fellowship, however, is dependent upon obedience. The child of God cannot continue in sin as the Lord’s seed.
- There will be a bodily resurrection of the saved and of the lost—of the saved, unto eternal life, and of the lost, unto eternal judgment.
- When Christ returns at the end of the age, all true believers will see his face and be with him forever, reigning with him in splendor and great glory, through all eternity, in the new heavens and new earth.
12. On issues of modern culture, Leaps in Literacy publishing adheres only to scripture and God’s authority on marriage and a biblical role for family. “God designed marriage for humanity. Biblical marriage, as described in the story of creation (Genesis 2:24) and affirmed by Jesus (Mark 10:6-9), is designed by God to be a covenantal, lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman; and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship is immoral and sinful (Proverbs 2:16-17; Malachi 2:14). God wonderfully created two distinct sexes, male and female (Genesis 1:27). The lifelong, sexually exclusive relationship brings children into the world and thus sustains the stewardship of the earth. Study references: Mark 10:9, 1 Peter 4:8, Romans 7, Malachi 2:14, Proverbs 5:18, Matthew 5:32, Mathew 19:9, 1 Cor 7:15, 1 Cor 7:39. Biblical marriage should be marked by faithfulness, sacrificial love and joy, because it displays the relationship between God and His people. The seriousness of marriage is real to the Lord and He instituted marriage Himself in the garden of Eden between Adam and Eve, sealing their union. His authority is above man's authority at all times.
Leaps in Literacy publishing respects biblical differences of viewpoints that are not mandatory for salvation. All who call on the Name of the Lord will be saved. The company seeks to honor Christ about matters pertaining to this life and continues to study God's word.
