Well, my older kids have started their Christian schooling already. However, I am officially a homeschool mama with a kinder-prep grade this year. K4!
We started out our school morning with a special cupcake to celebrate our first day of official learning at home.
Not only that, but I'm back in the routine I love. Coffee and instructing in the mornings. Hands-on preschool/ kinder activities and fun.
Little Addi completed her first Abeka Bible, Numbers, and Phonics videos for lesson 1. There are over 100 in the program. She learned about creation in Genesis, that the Letter Ii says /i./, and about numbers and amounts. The skills keep on building upon one another and I could tell she retained a lot.
Further, we will be completing work I've prepped. She had to complete handwriting in Denalian style. We did the letter Ii and will correspond to the videos with tracing letters. She also did a number recognition activity with Jady A's Math skills folder that I bought on TPT. I read out of her Science reader and we learned a bit about animals and their homes and how they survive.

Lastly, her daddy read her phonetic blends page with her at nighttime. She wasn't listening to her mom or Nana during the day, so he was able to get her to complete her work. Thank goodness. Real life... :)
These are the most precious days to me. Cherish every day with your children no matter what age. They are your responsibility to train up and nurture. Given to the Lord by you. My other children were busy at their school and sports activities all day as well. The baby just loves to hang around all of us.
Finally, I got a ton of laundry done. My husband was like, "We actually have a couch!" "Ya babe, we do!"
I also got some knitting in. I'm knitting a scarf for winter for my middle child Avalyn.
Easier this week I read a blog post from, "Keeper of the Homestead". I love her. She talked about choosing a slower pace of life and that she would rather be home doing dishes, scrubbing things, baking things for her family, etc. instead of being out somewhere else. This is what I choose. Its beautiful work and I love it. I was created for this work by the Lord. I will not have it any other way. It's important to know your calling from Christ and walk in it joyfully and work hard at it as well. Ive been busy mostly all day and feel very accomplished. Now when days get hard, I'll be caught up! Briana
