My kids have loved this chapter book I bought, along with a well-known and affordable Dover coloring book for facts and coloring/watercolor activities for the Middle Ages time period.
The photo above is one of my daughter's coloring pages, showing how many villages back then were surrounded by walls to protect them from invaders.
The YOU CHOOSE book series are wonderful! I found them on Amazon. They are by Allison Lassieur. So far, we have gone an adventure, understanding what a squire's job is in helping a knight, and then growing up to be ordained as a knight ourselves. We had to choose which path to take on a journey to war. Once you complete a path, you can go back choose a different journey.
We are deciding now if we should endure the Black Plague or live in a medieval castle and learn the happenings.
These books are living literature at its finest! Other titles cover other history topics.
