Family Update & Homemaking Encouragement

Reggio Classroom Examples... Our homeschool inspiration

...The household is doing great. Its been such a blessing to have my mom here while I'm still recovering and Jeremy helping with everything from dishes to cleaning, to organizing. I still have a hard time after walking for 15-20 minutes later in the night. I usually get a bit more swollen and dizzy, but feel better after more sleep.  And more sleep... it was needed. I'm sleeping solid hours now and can go out in public for a bit with my abdominal wrap on. I am thankful for this time of rest---plus I've made a lot of new items in my educational store (Leaps in Literacy) for preschool and primary grades in helping teachers and homeschool mamas.

Family & Homemaking Update and Encouragement.

To mamas: Be creative in your home. This sounds evident. However, create and find projects to keep you and your kids busy.

New projects around here:

I'm adding more to our homeschool classroom. I'm continually making it into more of a Reggio Emilia space. Google this early childhood method of teaching. It's amazing. Lots of color and nature, Photographing lessons and letting kids pick certain things they want to study in depth and learn.

 Reggio Classroom Example
Ive ordered small lights and hanging leaves with lights for the ceiling. Around Christmas we will get a white reading tent.  We already have a forest animal theme with wall stickers.  I've also ordered a boho large green sticker for the other side and am hanging yarn and clothespins to display work. Some pics coming soon!

I've made a lot of things for home learning with my laminator and Teachers Pay Teachers.

Pattern block mats, etc.

The girls and I baked Bahn bao dumplings from scratch. These originated in China. We stuffed them with meat, veggies, and rice. Delicious with Vietnamese dipping sauce and cilantro!

I also made a new potato and carrot salad recipe. The lemon, creamy sauce, and fresh dill made it delicious. Jeremy smoked a pork in our trager grill with this, along with baked beans. It was a gourmet meal. He is getting really good at smoking meats around here...

Lastly, I've ordered a wooden framed chore chart and calendar that is whiteboard based to hang in our entry room. You use a washable marker and its reusable. Pics coming!

Knitting is going good... Im completing a scarf for Avy. I will get better at this.

Encouragement: Your home is as beautiful mama as you make it. You choose light over darkness. You choose to amplify Christ in your home and in your family unit. Do it! Pour your effort into your home. You are irreplaceable.
