Homemade Pop Tarts, Youtube Christian Homemaking, and Bible Reflections

Wow, don't you love being a girl? We are so good at multi-tasking. First, I was inspired by Three Rivers Homestead channel to make homemade pop tarts for breakfasts from time to time. This is a new, amazing Christian family I have started watching. She is more conservative, and really an example of homesteading, homemaking, homeschooling, submission, frugal living, and modesty. I might be a tad different from her in some ways, but our hearts align. I want to be the joyful, godly homemaker that God calls me to be in Titus 2:3-5. I want to love being busy in my home- which I always have, more and more each day. I want to work hard with my hands, and go out to the market or business place to make a profit for my family if I need too. I want to follow Jesus as a sold-out, no lukewarmness Christian, and bless the poor who need the gospel or children who are hurting.

Anyways, she made pop tarts so I made my own dough- I don't follow a recipe with dough, I just feel the dough for texture. I used bread flour, coconut flour, cinnamon, salt, honey, baking soda, heavy cream, vanilla, and milk .You can use pre-made pie dough if you like. You heat the oven to 350 and grease a baking sheet. Take small amounts of your dough and roll it into a ball. These will roll out, with your roller, into little circles on your greased or paper lined pan. Add in some jam or fruit butter. I did order blueberry butter (she uses pear butter), I'm very excited. Add the jam to one half of the dough circle, fold it over, and press the sides with a fork.

Bake for 20 minutes  at 350 degrees or until they are finished.

Here is one of her videos about going against the culture and only seeking Christ's approval, not man's. I loved it. There is absolutely no shame for women who choose to stay home every day, full time, taking care of their home and household to serve their husband and children. It is a choice.

______________________________________________________________________________________Bible Reflections

1 and 2 Peter

1 Peter 3:1-7  Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

2 Peter 2:19-22 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. 21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22 They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.”[g] And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

---Wow, this addresses Christians folks. 2 Peter 1 ..."This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have."

Peter is addressing those of faith. Dont' think that as a Christian you don't have a free choice to walk in sin. You do; and God takes that severely. If He has rescued you from sin, miraculously drawn you to Himself to call on His name for salvation, and you choose to return to your own sin again and again--- God says this is like a dog returning to its vomit. It would have been better if you were never saved or never had known the truth! Wow, God is gracious. He is abundantly gracious and will always save and rescue His people. However, don't gloss over God's judgements. He first starts with the House of God. We are not to judge the world, but we are to judge those inside the church.

No one is perfect, I'm surely not. But this warning is real to me. I don't want to disobey or hurt my Lord. I don't want to displease Him. I don't ever want to walk in sin and break His heart.

Lets repent if we have wickedness in us and walk the path towards life everlasting.
