For Kindergarten homeschooling, and any other grade really, I have always found that what I pick is great for the year, but I might need to add other resources in, or to take some away. This is a normal part of the homeschooler's job.
There is also a lot of curriculum tweaking between ages 3-5. These are big years for preschool, pre-k, and kinder. A child who is 3, will be doing much different schooling than a child who is an older 4 year old, going on 5.
So since my little Addi is an older 4 year old, I have found that she is ready for some 5 year old work.
For example, Masterbooks Math K was great at the beginning of 4 years, but now that she is an older 4 year old, I need to add some extra things in. Also, I need to add some more things in with language arts and phonics.
We are doing year round homeschooling with her, so she starts older work over summer. This is so we can eventually travel more throughout the year.
So, for math, I found some Harcourt publishers (public schools use these) vintage math workbooks on eBay. These worksheets will help her start tracing numbers and completing addition problems using cubes. She is not quite ready for Abeka k5 math. (Abeka is rigorous from a young age and meets or exceeds all common core state standards. It also matches any other state guidelines.)
Further, I did order the Abeka K5 phonics workbook now. I feel she is ready, though not quite 5.
We are also adding Reading Bear videos to our reading instruction. Link on the right... This is a free UK website with videos teaching children how to read.
For Bible, we are using our Christian Light Publications VBS workbooks, these go through older grades as well from milestone books.com; which cover all the Bible stories in depth, along with teaching children to walk individually with God through different worksheets. These worksheets correlate to each Bible story. And these workbooks are so cheap!!!! You can also find these VBS workbooks on Christian Light Publications.com.
--These are our main at home Bible workbooks for preschool and elementary years- though we pull from other things. I have found them to be wonderful for a homeschooling parent. At 4 she started VBS grade K. There are 2 workbooks. The first workbook is perfect for a 4 year old. The 2nd workbook is great for an older pre-k student and 5 year old student. Here is the link for all grades ...

However, sometimes I need to pull additional worksheets or crafts, and Positive Action Bible Workbook K4 is great for that.
We always watch Beginner Bible episodes for free on YouTube to solidify each Bible story we are covering. These are biblical and wholesome cartoons that go along with the Beginner's Bible- one of the best children's Bibles ever . ( My growing up years).
Further, I am creating new Montessori inspired Reverent Play units for Biblical studies and hands-on toys for children . We will also do this for our kindergarten year. View the link on the right. This mimics the Episcopalian church or Catholic church Godly play, but through a non-denominational lens. There are handwriting worksheets for verses, specific units to teach, and beautiful toys like wooden figurines of Jesus with sheep, etc. (On the top right of my blog you can click the link to visit the Unit 1 lessons).
