Kindergarten Curriculum Picks: I Love Homeschooling
This is all you need to homeschool for kindergarten and first grade years with these publishers. Spend a few hundred dollars tops for the whole year... you'll probably be able to add in extra books for fun and educational toys with this max price---you can also buy this used!! Create a solid, Biblical, rigorous, peaceful, and rich education. Easy for the parent and full of wisdom and treasures.
The Lord put it on my heart to use Rod and Staff Bible and Nurture Reader Series for Langauge Arts and Bible in the early years and elementary. This is a solid, biblical, Christian curriculum that is wholesome and can be used as non-denominational; even though people are pictured in Amish and Mennonite dress. The statement of faith believes in One God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), salvation alone through faith by grace in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross and resurrection 3 days later, (Jesus being the Lord God in flesh), the importance of immersion in water baptism, and a changed life free from sin and unrighteousness in pleasing the Lord and obtaining blessings here and now on earth. I can't say enough about Rod and Staff or Christian Light Education (Both are wonderful). I will post some Christian Light info at a later time. We are starting some of this when Addi turns 5; or maybe a bit before... she is ready.
I can't post pics for some reason, but I'll link. It's a Christian Mennonite/Amish company. My older kids used a lot of this publisher's work when homeschooled in elementary school years ago. I credit these publishers with my kids walk with Christ; that and listening to David K Bernard sermons on the Oneness of God on YouTube for free before baptism. And a great dad and church...
Official Rod and Staff Readers
There are 6 units for grade 1 (though we are starting this in kindergarten). We will work our way through and take breaks peacefully; with year round homeschooling. Units 1,2 can be started a bit early around 5 if your child can read some letters and words.
I have been using Abeka phonics K5 already at 4 yrs. and their Little Books 1-12. This laid the foundation to begin Rod and Staff. Abeka is solid and I highly recommend it. We will continue working through their k5 phonics workbook, along with Rod and Staff in kindergarten. Both lay a solid reading foundation.

Hands-On Mastery Math
I found used manipulatives with this on Ebay and a used Primer workbook on Amazon.
I also found used Rod and Staff materials on Ebay, though Milestone Books is so cheap and my favorite place to buy from.
We will also start Listen and Write Spelling You See at 5 1/2 -6 yrs.
