God's Blessings and Scriptures for Women-- Against the Tide

 

The woman who listens to the Lord's instructions and fears Him and His holy word is to be praised, and in the sight of Christ, is worth far more than physical treasure...

"The fact is, in growing popularity, the traditional and biblical role of women as wives and mothers is seen as lesser. And it is hurting, confusing and stressing young Christian women. Because we are continually bombarded night and day with what the spirit of the world says which is in complete opposition to the truth of God.

So what is a Christian woman to do? Turn to the Word."

I loved this quote.  The fact is--- the world and its system is completely against Christ and His Kingdom.  Is this offensive? 

James 4:4

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.

As a wife, mother, and woman that has known and followed Christ as a little child, before I can remember; growing older has given me more and more insight into God's word for me and just how opposed it is to the world I live in.  

Be encouraged as a wife or mother today, that following Christ brings persecution, trials, and hardship.  The world will hate you and it will hate the system of the Holy Bible.  

However, rejoice!  Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

As I am imperfect, I rejoice and continue to learn and glean from God's word for myself.  With lots of room to grow, I know how loved I am by Christ and how unique I am as a woman, made for His glory alone.

Titus 2:3-5 NIV

3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.  4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,  5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.  11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.  12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.  13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.  14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.  15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.  16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.  17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.  18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.  19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.  20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

---imperfect as I am, I continue to take joy and grow in my role as wife and the keeper of my home and children for the time God has set before me.   One day, my children will grow and leave and cleave to their spouse, forming their own family unit, God-ordained, stepping away from their parents and siblings.  

For now, I rejoice in the precious gift my children are at home, and I will rejoice to see them flourish and grow in their futures, always being their friend and advisor, supporting them in their endeavors.

Psalm 46:5 NIV

5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

1 Peter 3:3-4 NIV

3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.  4Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

I should always take this instruction, away from the beauty of the world.   I should realize a gentle and quiet spirit is absolutely precious to God. 

1 Timothy 2:9-14 NIV

9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,  10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.  11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.  12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.  13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.  14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

---I should take joy in my role as a woman, understanding God's instructions are wise and best.

Proverbs 18:22 NIV

22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

I am the Lord's gift and favor to my husband.  I fulfill a blessing and vital role, unique from all others, for my husband. I have given my husband his offspring, and I help keep watch over our home.
