Let's talk phonics...

I love phonics. I believe utilizing phonics in learning to read is essential for strong readers. Here, I will share my phonics curriculums, along with others.

Little Addi is almost four, and we are beginning some more phonics instruction. Here is what we practice currently.

My blends binder. You place worksheets in sheet protectors in a binder or clasp , plastic folder.  A dry erase marker is used, along with an eraser, to complete activities daily. Children find the matching blends and beginning sounds.

Its Free!

Also, we love Abeka phonics. We have a blends and word book, which was super cheap on Amazon. When Addi officially turns 4, I am purchasing the little books 1-12, which are only $18 on Amazon.

These are great for beginning readers using simple phonics with letter sounds and simple words.

I have created phonics support resources in my store, with no-prep CVC worksheets for decoding and more. I also have a phonics curriculum.
These are geared towards Pre-k and Kindergarten years.

Addi and I are starting the  American Language Series Phonics Workbook. We will take this day by day at her level, with my instruction and guidance. She will use a pencil to complete the worksheets in the book.

We will decipher if we want to continue with this publisher or Abeka in further levels...

Some other teacher created resources are as follows, with work I use or will use:

My Nerdy Teacher creates amazing phonics worksheets with decoding and additional activities.

I also like the Paper Maid.

She has a free phonogram workbook for 1st -2nd grade.

I hope you have enjoyed these resources I've shared! We use a hodge podge of materials when teaching phonics and reading strategies.
