Let's Talk Tea Time...A Charlotte Mason Approach...

Okay, so I'm just now implementing this Charlotte Mason method into our homeschool; which will go along with morning basket time, with a CM and classical homeschool education.

Addi and I brewed gingerbread cookie tea (while the baby was eating a snack).  We also got some cookies, and due to the autumn season and trick or treating around the corner, we read classics. The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree. Super cute. Has nothing with witchcraft etc. Which we completely stay away from, especially on halloween.

We also read an autumn themed living math book. CM uses living books. So, we counted the pieces of pie and learned about fractions. Living books, in case you are wondering, are books that are way more enjoyable than your average textbook. Instead of reading a history textbook, you will read about a person who experienced a real-life historical event through a chapter book etc. For younger grades, you will incorporate reading into lots of subject material and matter.

Also, I'm a bit of an old-fashioned lover and simple-living mama. My husband will tell you I've dragged him to Amish country, bake shops, antique shops, thrift shops, and more... He really enjoys it... haha. I loved this picture from our book.

Every child, especially in a Christian home, should feel their house is a "safe at last place". Especially with their mama.

It was fun to sip tea and eat cookies, while this mama read aloud at the kitchen table.

If you haven't tried tea time, do so! Even for older kids, there are lots of activities to complete during this time. Just go onto Etsy and google Charlotte Mason tea time printables. It's a big thing in the homeschool world and brings precious memories.

In a book I once read, "A cup of tea takes the world's troubles away." Well, Jesus only does that! But, a cup of tea sure helps calm the nerves...
