Those who trust the Lord will have great riches. Though you feel your life is in poverty, Jesus will never stop providing for you and blessing you. Humans fail all the time. God never fails. He tells us to never place our hope in men. Only place your hope in Him.
I loved this short excerpt on John 6:44
"It is absolutely sure that "whosoever will may come." And it is equally certain that whosoever comes will certainly be received. No one was ever refused that came to Christ to be saved. No one ever approached the river of the water of life, thirsty and faint, and was denied a drink. Whosoever comes to eat of the bread of life will not be sent away hungry. One that will come to Christ does not have to hesitate. He need not fear that he will be disappointed or ashamed. If one asks he shall receive. He that seeketh shall surely find. To him that knocks it surely shall be opened. On this you may depend. Such is the gospel. And the gospel is the promise of God that can never fail. And this promise of the gospel is so indubitably sure to every one that comes to Christ, because before one can ever come to Him, and even before one can will to come, the grace of God already operated in his inmost heart and wrought this will to come in him. Grace is always first. The coming of the sinner is the fruit of God's drawing."
As a child I had a Bible. In the cover, was an illustrated and beautifully colored picture of Abraham. The verse read:
Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
It won't be hard to name blessings in your life; if you really think of them. However, you must know Jesus is your reward. I remember looking at this page often. As a child, God kept whispering to me, I am thy great reward. It is the same today. And how beautiful the assurance of those who come to Him! He drew us first, always. Scripture says so. God never lies. He was waiting for us in the dark, to be the Light. He was drawing us from the emptiness to fill our heart, mind, spirit, and soul. You shall love the Lord with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul.
If all else fails you in your life. You have ONE who is able to uphold you. He is your great treasure. In Him, Jesus, you will never lack even one good thing. He always provides for his children young and old. He shelters them as a hen nestles her chicks under her wings.
